For this project I have chosen a man by the name of Tony Walker. He hosts the Knock'em Dead Comedy Show at the Governor's Comedy Club Radio Station, in which he is the director of. I personally started to do stand-up about a year ago, it is through this medium in which I met Tony. He is a remarkable person in his own right and has invited me to his podcasts on various occasions, therefore I believe that there is a remarkable story to tell. I would like to tell a story of how far he has come along. I believe since our friendship and professional relationship is new that the story, interview, and insight will be fresh and brand new to myself. For the assignment I would like to suggest a couple of shots that I think would best utilize the smokers area. The main idea is to present a distinction between those who are taking a smoke break and the commuters who are traveling. Shot will be re-ordered if necessary, but for now its a list of possibilities. Shot 1- A high angle shot can present the area geometrically. Unfortunately the area itself is covered by a roof however across the area their is a bridge that should be able to give us a decent angle. Shot 2- A closer view of the smoking area. This is a medium wide angle shot of the area pointing from the smokers point of view towards the sidewalk. Shot 3- A medium wide angle shot of the smokers area but this time from across the street. This way we get both the pedestrians and the smokers in the same shot. Shot 4-  A low wide angle shot of their feet. Hopefully we get this one. The idea is to present the distinction in movement.      In this assignment my partner Amanda and I have decided to present a story using the smoking area located outside of the East Building at Hunter. A story about the rare and ironic moments in which people manage to take a break within the busy city. The juxtaposition of both the smokers and the regular commuters being just feet away from each other should present some interesting shots. The point of the project isn't to condone whether smoking is bad for you; instead it about comparing those taking a moment to sit within the perpetual motion of Manhattan.      The weather itself could be a challenge since people might not be outside. People also don't act as natural when they know they are being recorded. Some of the shots themselves might be difficult to capture, especially if we are in the way of the commuters on the sidewalk. I always loved the dynamics behind science and how it broke down just about every aspect in the world. The discovery and the questioning of everything in existence gifted me with a need of curiosity about the world and the universe itself. Ironically, the one thing I never did was question myself and ask "who is it that I want to become". I decided to explore the world from an artistic point of view rather than the logical way that I was accustomed to. This exploration led me to the world of film production and screenwriting. I learned to truly appreciate what it was to be able to create something out of nothing. However, compared to the other forms of artistic expression film and screenwriting have a unique touch which makes them very special to me. It is the challenge of telling a compelling story though a moving visual media. However, that story can simply be just a story to an audience but to the creator of that story that world becomes real.
